The controversy surrounding 9/11 can be suppressed, ignored, mocked and marginalized but it will not go away. The events of that day were in themselves enough to confirm a false flag operation and the flood of information that followed in the weeks and months there after served as further confirmation.

I have read about 9/11, written about it, railed against its utterly despotic criminality and been left astounded at the amateurishness of those who conspired to bring about this false flag operation. Now, some what belatedly, I have read Barrie Swicker's book, Towers of Deception- The media cover-up of 9-11. While I consider myself reasonably well informed on the issue Swicker's book is a treasure trove of information, much I knew, more I didn't know. His book also rekindled by anger toward this hideous subversion

On the morning of 9/11 I awoke to a CBC news radio report that the WTC towers were under attack. I turned on the television and saw the endless recycling of the footage showing the attack on the towers. It had the air of pulp fiction as there in the heart of New York City, in the homelands of world's singular super power that spends hundreds of billions of dollars every year on national security was an uncontested attack taking place.

My first reaction was that the US government was at very least guilty of criminal negligence as a result of this incident. This quickly became a question of whether its involvement took the form of passive or active complicity?

As the towers came tumbling down I thought this was over statement. The timing a little too punctual and the rapidity of their total collapse appeared aided by some veiled handiwork. Their partial collapse would have been believable; their total collapse a little too incredible.

The next morning I read in the paper the attack had taken place in spite of numerous warnings from Arab governments, various officials and foreign embassies-including America's own. In spite of these warnings there was no heightened security- and most eerily-no apparent measures or attempts to thwart this attack. As time pushed 9/11 into perspective the litany of unanswered questions and grotesque inconsistencies became more incriminating. Every anniversary of the event marks another year of denial.

In my younger days I was a ceramic artist and this involved heating earth minerals to high temperatures. In doing so, you acquire a good knowledge of the refractory qualities (inherent resistance to heat) of various materials. In melting or fusing materials it is not temperature alone that does the job, it is time as well- the time-temperature factor. In other words to melt a material it must be held at a given temperature for a specified period of time; referred to as " soaking."

Steel is a very refractory material. To distort its form it must be red hot and to melt it requires a much higher temperature and soaking. The fires at the WTC towers were no where near hot enough to affect the towers core steel structure. The quantity and color of the smoke indicated these were cold "dirty" fires where only partial combustion was present and no where near the searing heat required to affect the buildings very substantial steel core.

Coincidentally, about a year prior to 9/11 I was browsing on the internet and came across a documentary on the building of the WTC towers. It was very compelling as building the towers was a great engineering and architectural achievement. One of the most noteworthy items was the massive steel work that formed the buildings core. To think that two aircraft could knock out these colossal matrixes of steel columns and girders or that the fires could degrade them to the point of collapse is simply pure fantasy.

More recently I happened across a U Tube video where a structural engineer compared the aircraft hitting the towers to a fly( a more apt analogy I think would be a bird) hitting a screen door- it might make a hole in the door but the door is not going to come down. He was applying basic physics: allowing for the mass of the building, the mass of the aircraft, and their speed at impact; the building wasn't going anywhere. These buildings were over built to survive such impacts and under normal circumstances they surely would have.

Also from U Tube there is now an association of 1200 architects and engineers who also know their basic physics and are calling for a further investigation of 9/11.

Bringing down the towers was an equally brilliant piece of reverse engineering and a great spectacle but to try and pass it off as the work of high-flying terrorists is simply insanity. During the construction of the towers prefabricated steel work was delivered to the site on a rigorous daily schedule and put in place. In the replete demolition of the towers these same components could only have been blown apart by explosives into the neat easily disposable thirty foot sections that were hauled away. Swicker and others have noted how expediently and illegally (destruction of evidence) the rubble was made to disappear.

While the perpetrators of this event had an utterly sinister intent their execution of the event set a new standard for amateurism. That all three towers (including WTC7) came down in such a timely seemingly pre-scheduled manner their destruction so replete, and folding so cleanly into their own footprint indicates a controlled demolition. The perpetrators forgot that anybody who watches television has seen controlled demolitions and know how neatly buildings can be made to fold in on themselves. The controlled demolition of buildings is part of our culture of violence and the downing of the WTC towers merely out strips all others in terms of profound political and social implications.

As the actual execution of the event was so utterly and transparently incompetent and the ensuing cover-up a vast tapestry of lies and deceptions why then is there such an unbreachable wall of denialism regarding this event?

The answer comes in our nature to only entertain "truths of convenience," and to stay within "comfort zones." To entertain the notion that 9/11 is a false flag operation is to implicate government not as our guardian but as the enemy and this for anybody is a soul destroying realization. That a government would deliberately kill its own citizens is diabolical but world history is littered with such depravity (see Stalin and Hitler as masters of the trade). The first decade of the 21st century has seen a pandemic of moral and political depravity with to many leaders dedicated to pathological lying. We have every reason to believe they are also lying about 9/11.

9/11 ushered in an era of continuous warfare, hyper-militarism, the fraudulent war on terror and the indiscriminate use of torture. We are seeing the systematic denegration of good government, democratic values, human rights, the rule of law and good old common decency.

The post 9/11 world is itself further confirmation that the conspirators implemented their "New Pearl Harbor" to carry out their despicable agenda. 9/11 was a fraudulent historical punctuation point staged to manufacture new enemies, to justify a neo-imperialist agenda, the rampant militarism and continuous warfare required to pursue this agenda.

The past few decades have seen the corporatization of the media such that very few, very powerful corporations control what we see, hear and read. Corporatism has hi-jacked the relationship between peoples and their governments. The public good takes a back seat to corporatism and political elites are all too willing to be courtesans to corporatism: In other words, a fundamental political betrayal. The corporate mainstream media has become propagandist and defender of a malicious status quo. As the activist " hummux" points out in Swicker's book "being the media" is the way forward. As the mainstream media has betrayed a sacred trust there is a cavernous void to be filled. Fortunately the internet is transnational and well endowed with authoritative sites. So too is there a continent-spanning formidable body of dissident literature. We can no longer read the mainstream media for what it says but what it isn't saying- as it retreats into its "towers of deception" and sinks into irrelevance.

Like the perpetrators of 9/11 the mainstream media suffers a certain senility, forgetting that news and opinion is now available from a multitude of sources. What they refuse to publish or broadcast some one else is out there doing the job for them. The one newspaper town is long gone and propaganda quickly becomes transparently self-revealing.

Swicker addresses the issue of the Left-wing gatekeepers- notable left wing intellectuals and media types who either reject 9/11 as a false flag operation or even if it was, believe it to be of no importance. Most notable among these is the eminent godfather of dissidence Noam Chomsky. Like Swicker, I have great admiration for Chomsky. Over decades he has been an unrelenting critic of an endlessly corrupt US foreign policy. Like Swicker though, I am totally perplexed by Chomsky's denialism.

One reason we are in this epic mess is that over the years as the far Right came to control the political agenda in America the Left failed to mount a real alternative or anything resembling real opposition . As historian Tony Judt pointed out liberals of the Left too often serve as "useful idiots" to the right wing agenda. Michael Ignatieff, presently leader of the Liberal Party of Canada was one such idiot in his willingness to condone torture during his days as Harvard professor of human rights. Now there are other luminaries of the left willing to be useful idiots in denying the conspicuous truth that 9/11 was a false flag operation and a heinous act of treason.

The attack of 9/11 not only ushered in the fraudulent war on terror it was also the advent of the Age of Denialism. The denialism associated with 9/11 became epidemic. As America and its apple polishing allies-namely a vastly disgraced NATO-pursue the new fascism the really critical issues of the day are being ignored. We face global warming, the end of oil, global poverty, environmental degradation- the very real issues of the day- yet these are ignored or stonewalled by a comatose mainstream media and sorely corrupted and cowardly political elites. Where there should be a robust multilateralism to address global issues there is the pall of a ruinous totalitarianism griping Western civilization.

The fraudulent and totally disgraced war on terror must now be the war on tyranny, a war on the home front where the enemy is within; where accountability and integrity must be restored. We began the 21st century by killing faith in government and this faith must be restored.

Swicker heads the preface to his book with two very compelling quotations. The first from Will Rogers:

It isn't what we don't know that gives us trouble; it's what we know that ain't so.

We are at the point in this pathetic human drama that too many people know that there is just too much that just "ain't so." We have come a long way from the era of Will Rogers and what "ain't so" becomes quickly detectable.

The second comes from British philosopher Bertrand Russell:

Never lie to yourself.

This primal little gem of wisdom was his personal First Commandment. It applies on an individual basis as well as collectively to societies. Societies should not lie or allow themselves to be lied to- especially the Big Lie, like 9/11 so utterly subversive and devastating. The inept perpetrators of 9/11 failed to consider that the mass psychosis inflicted by that false flag event would eventually have to be addressed. As long as the lie persists the psychosis deepens and destroys us.

9/11 was shoddy theatrics, long on audacity and short on credibility. It is time to put aside fear, trauma, truths of convenience and insist the real truth be told.

The first decade of the 21st century has been a giant misstep for mankind. The second decade must see a momentous course correction, returning to progressive values and squarely addressing the pressing issues of our times. The Age of Denial must end abruptly as it began.

Today, 25,000 children will die of hunger or poverty-related illnesses on this benighted planet.

25,000 starving kids can't be wrong. You and I can be wrong, but 25,000 starving kids can't be wrong.

In a statement issued just before the opening of the G8 summit, which was held in L'Aquila, Italy from July 8 to 10, the London-based charity organization Save the Children said that over 75,000 children would die unnecessarily during the three-day meeting of eight major industrialized countries.

That means 25,000 children died unnecessarily every day of the summit -- and continue to die at that rate every day.

Save the Children said that “the G8 leaders are failing to do enough to save the lives of the 9.2 million children who die every year from easily preventable diseases.”

It seems the G8 leaders are more concerned about how the global economic crisis is affecting the global ruling class.

Save the Children said that if the G8 countries and other rich nations do not double the amount of money they donate annually for maternal, newborn, and child healthcare to at least $7 billion by 2012, they will have no chance of achieving the United Nations Millennium Development Goal of reducing child mortality by two thirds by 2015, and at the current rate of progress, the target will not be reached until 2045.

“It is outrageous that 9.2 million children are still dying every year,” Adrian Lovett, Save the Children's director of campaigns, said in the statement.

Indeed, it is more than outrageous. It is a crime against humanity. It is genocide.

In reality, a silent genocide campaign is being carried out against the children of the Global South.

Yet all the officials and citizens of the countries that signed the Genocide Convention are also silent. Nobody is being brought to the International Criminal Court to face charges of crimes against humanity and genocide. All the people who endlessly say “Never again” are doing nothing. Maybe they should change their slogan to “Again and again and again” because that's what's really happening on this planet.

“Hunger is not a natural phenomenon, as some believe. Neither is it a disease, or an unwanted consequence of weather conditions. It is a human invention which is as lethal and fearsome as the chemical weapons Bush and his allies had said they were looking for in Iraq. As every other instrument of mass destruction, it is applied in a rational and selective fashion over certain areas of the planet and it aims to exterminate the surplus races and sectors of the world's population,” wrote Miguel A. Seman in an article entitled “The hunger factories” which was originally published in Spanish on the web site www.pelotadetrapo.org.ar and republished in English by the Tehran Times on November 24, 2008.

In an article entitled “Hearing the grass grow” which was originally published in Spanish on the web site www.pelotadetrapo.org.ar and republished in English by the Tehran Times on December 24, 2006, Oscar Taffetani wrote:

“Yet, according to the last FAO report, current agricultural output could feed 12 billion people, about twice the population of the planet, providing each person with 2,700 calories a day. But this is not done. For that reason, when a child dies of hunger anywhere in the world, it is because he or she has been murdered.”

And Mr. Taffetani is right. When a child dies of hunger anywhere in the world, it is because he or she has been murdered.

And the killers of those children are the members of the global ruling class, whose only “sacred” value appears to be the maximization of profit at all costs, with no thought about the consequences for the starving masses of this planet.

And the accomplices of the killers are all the global haves who are indifferent or oblivious to the plight of the starving global have-nots because they are entranced in the spell of mindless consumerism and meaningless mass entertainment cast by the evil magicians of globalization.

Maybe somebody should produce a reality TV show entitled “Watch the World's Children Starve to Death”.

And some people would actually enjoy the show. A large segment of the global ruling class would probably enjoy such a TV show.

This is a very sad state of affairs.

So what should be done to remedy the situation?

First of all, every individual must work to elevate his or her consciousness and encourage others to do the same. There must be a global paradigm shift in thinking. Stop thinking so much about your minor personal problems. Understand that your problems are nothing compared to the fact that 25,000 children are dying unnecessarily every day.

Work together with like-minded people to create a better world.

Visualize the global paradigm shift in thinking.

Acknowledge that there must be a just dispensation for all the people of Earth.

Fight against wrong thinking.

For example, some heartless people say that they are not responsible to help the deprived children of the world because their suffering is a result of the actions of their parents. These senseless people say that their parents had too many children when they knew they couldn't afford to take care of them, or their parents started the wars that caused their suffering, or their parents are responsible for the economic problems that made life difficult for them.

But this is a specious argument. Why should children have to pay for their parents mistakes?

Most religions -- and even most secular humanist schools of thought -- say that the punishment for the sins of the parents should not be visited upon the children.

Globalization and the neoliberal economic model have caused all this suffering, and the nightmare will never end until the world takes another path.

So we must fight against globalization and the neoliberal economic model till the bitter end.

We can -- and we must -- formulate a better economic model, an economic model in which people come first and not capital and profits, an economic model based on fair trade not free trade, an economic model which has social justice as its foundation.

Article 25 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which was adopted by the General Assembly of the United Nations on December 10, 1948, states:

“(1) Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control. (2) Motherhood and childhood are entitled to special care and assistance. All children, whether born in or out of wedlock, shall enjoy the same social protection.”

We should do everything we can to ensure that Article 25 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is put into practice.

If we have no compassion for our fellow human beings, we have lost our humanity. So let us not lose our humanity. And let's work hard to help those who have lost their humanity regain their humanity.

And let's make serious efforts to end starvation and deprivation on this planet and to create a more just world.

US remains silent over McKinney arrest by Israel

Nearly a day after the detention of former US lawmaker Cynthia McKinney by Israeli forces, Washington has yet to make a reaction.

Israeli Navy detained former US congresswoman and Nobel Prize laureate Cynthia McKinney and twenty other human rights activists on board a relief boat outside Israel's territorial waters on Tuesday as they were heading to Gaza on a humanitarian mission.

Tel Aviv claims the boat was trying to break Israel's two-year siege on Gaza.

Ms McKinney -- the 2008 Green Party nominee for President of the United States-- has accused Tel Aviv of violating the international law by seizing an aid vessel in international waters.

"This is an outrageous violation of international law against us. Our boat was not in Israeli waters, and we were on a human rights mission to the Gaza Strip," McKinney said in a statement.

"We are asking the international community to demand our release so we can continue our journey," she added.

"My wife and I are very concerned about her safety," Cynthia's father told Press TV in a phone call.

Bill McKinney said that the US government should support Cynthia's message and added, "Her major concern is human."

Green Party leaders have called on the White House and the US State Department to intervene and demand the immediate release of all the activists.

On Monday, the International Committee of the Red Cross warned of dire humanitarian situation in Gaza, saying 1.5 million Palestinians living in the coastal sliver are 'trapped in despair' because of the continuing Israeli blockade on the territory.

Since June 2007, when Israel imposed a blockade on the territory, no raw material has entered Gaza, stalling any attempt to rebuild the strip.

According to the humanitarian agency report, seriously ill patients were not receiving the treatment they needed and thousands of Gazans whose homes were destroyed during Israel's three-week Christmas war were still without shelter.

The truth about 9/11 continues to emerge. War-crimes charges are presently being prepared against President Bush by an eminent legal steering committee. While not initially on 9/11, it is just a question of time before the inquiry takes that subject in as well. And, when it does, the whole scenario that has represented Muslims as terrorists will collapse as well.

I am not a Muslim, but a Jew. Supposedly, I should somehow be antipathetic to Muslims. Supposedly too, by merely being a Jew I should somehow be a "Zionist neocon," a militarist, etc.

I am in fact nothing of the sort. Neither are millions of my fellow Jews - any more than "Muslims" are terrorists.

In this election year, when the American public is as open and focussed as it will ever be, I consider it the right time to reissue this article. Its intent is to bring to the attention of the American people and the world the fact that the "secret state" has waged a campaign to paint Muslims as the "enemy within" when "Muslims" had nothing to do with 9/11.

Yes, a small number of Muslims worked as paid participants in the plot (Mohhamed Atta, for instance, and officials); yes, Al-Qaida was a CIA creation and played its part in the drama.

But 9/11 itself was solely the creation of the Bush administration and unknown accomplices in the CIA, FBI, military, other government agencies, and operatives, I believe, from other governments (including Mossad).

If I were to write this article today, I would change some of the factual statements in it. For instance, I now believe that an A-3 Skywarrior drone hit the Pentagon. But these alterations do not affect the main message here, which is that the world owes Muslims an apology.

People of America, it is time to ask the forgiveness of Muslims of America for years of stereotyping and mistreatment. It is time to realize that there was no "terrorist conspiracy" in 2001 (whether we have created one since then by our own actions is a different question). It is time to see that we were all stampeded and fooled. All the terror alerts, heightened security, and loss of civil rights are part of a drama to keep us hoodwinked and compliant. It has nothing to do with Muslims or "terrorism."

Let me be the first to apologize to Muslims of America, Canada, Britain, and the rest of the world, for buying into the false accusations that they were in any way implicated in the events of 9/11. They were not. I ask your forgiveness.

I pray that we may all come together in love and understanding and create a new and united future, free from the same folly of stereotyping any group or people.

I also pray for the day when the example of the global elite, military-industrial complex, or secret state, which committed the mass murders and high treason of 9/11 and numerous other evil acts, will be rejected by us all and a normal, freedom-loving life returned to on this planet.

A growing consensus of Americans (and, in my case, Canadians) believe that 9/11 was a "false flag" operation carried out by the Bush administration and their agents in the American military and intelligence communities. (1)

According to people who have studied the situation, 9/11 was not caused by 19 Middle-Eastern hijackers with boxcutters; it was an inside job like the Gulf of Tonkin incident in 1964 and the bombing of the U.S.S. Liberty in 1967. (2)The conspiracy seems to have been aimed at frightening the American people into agreeing to attacks on Afghanistan, Iraq, and Iran. The aim appears to be to capture Middle-East oil and establish American hegemony before the American economy itself collapsed from debt and the greenback fell as the world’s premier currency [As they both are now. SB]. (3)

According to Michael Meacher, former British cabinet minister, the administration had been negotiating with the Taliban for a pipeline right-of-way through Afghanistan. They had offered a carpet of gold or a carpet of bombs and the Taliban refused the gold. (4) Some say that the plans for the invasion of Afghanistan were already in place before 9/11; that the troops were already positioned. They allege that, prior to 9/11, George Bush had the necessary papers to go to war ready for signing on his desk. (5)

In my view, a view which is not shared by all others in the 9/11 Truth Movement, the North and South Towers were not hit by passenger planes, but by remote-controlled drones. These allegations explain the pod the proponents of this view point to on the belly of the aircraft that hit Tower 2, the testimony of an eyewitness that the plane that hit Tower 2 had no passenger windows and was not a passenger jet, and the tight flight manouevres that would have rendered a pilot unconscious and would have been overridden by the plane’s onboard computer. (6)

The people I have found convincing point out that all the aircraft involved in 9/11 were followed from the first indications of abnormality by air traffic controllers, but that neither NORAD nor the Pentagon responded to the emergencies. Certainly the FAA knew by 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 11 that an emergency was playing out, a time well before the first crash. This time allowance would have been sufficient for NORAD to have launched interceptors and have brought down the “airliners.” (7)

Again, the people I have found convincing argue that the North and South Towers, as well as World Trade Center Building 7, were brought down by thousands of thermate cutter charges. This explanation accounts for the explosive auras bursting outwards as they collapsed and the demolition “squibs” observable in the news coverage. The fact that the buildings were brought down by controlled demolition is also inferable from the time it took the buildings to collapse (around 8 seconds), and corroborated by reputable architects, engineers, emergency responders, and demolitions experts. (8)

To bring a building down by controlled demolition takes extensive planning over days, if not weeks, moving the date of preparation well back before 9/11. Nineteen Middle-Eastern hijackers with boxcutters could not possibly have engaged in the extensive planning required or have installed thousands of explosives in the three WTC buildings. (9)

According to the view I hold with, the Pentagon was hit by a guided missile, as Donald Rumsfeld himself affirmed in a subsequent magazine interview. (10) Lt. Col. Karen Kwiatkowski worked at the Pentagon and went outside on 9/11 to look at the damage. What she saw shocked her. There was no wreckage on the scene (wings, tail, engines, seats, luggage, bodies). There was an entry hole only 20 feet wide. No adjacent windows were smashed. The lawn was not damaged or scorched. She thought the scene consistent with a missile attack, but not with an airplane crash. (11) Government involvement would explain why the FBI confiscated all film footage and released only five inconclusive frames from all the footage available. (12)

Hani Hanjour, alleged to have piloted the “aircraft,” may have been part of the government’s plot insofar as he trained at an American flight school. His instructor said he was incompetent at flying. The instructor could not imagine Hanjour piloting a 757. When one adds to that the fact that the flight data recorder shows a rapid descent and a bank which a passenger jet could hardly have made and then a precision hit on the first floor of the building which military pilots have said they would find difficult, the hypothesis that Hani Hanjour flew whatever hit the Pentagon becomes too improbable to be believed. (13)

As for the rest of the “hijackers,” the theory is that some of them were paid money to attend flight school, but that is the extent of their role. Mohammed Atta was paid $100,000 on Sept. 11, the payment being made in Washington through a Pakistani ISI general. On 9/11, Atta entered the United States and was photographed at the airport, following which he took a connecting flight back out of the United States. (14) No Arab names appear on any of the flights’ manifests. (15)

The serendipitous survival and discovery of a “hijacker’s” passport in excellent condition near Ground Zero after the total destruction of the North and South Towers is too improbable to accept. (16) The lack of credibility of such an event must implicate the agents who put the story forward.

At least six of the "hijackers" were found alive and well after 9/11; one was surprised to see his name in the news. This element of the official story is so important that I shall quote at length the evidence refuting it:

“The New Pearl Harbor reported evidence that at least six of the alleged hijackers are still alive. David Harrison of the Telegraph interviewed two of the men who supposedly died on Flight 93, which crashed in Pennsylvania, one of whom said that he "had never even heard of Pennsylvania," let alone died there. The Associated Press reported that Waleed al-Shehri, supposedly on Flight 11, contacted the U.S. embassy in Morocco about two weeks after 9/11. The 9/11 Commission Report, nevertheless, suggested that al-Shehri was responsible for stabbing one of the flight attendants shortly before Flight 11 crashed into the North Tower.” (17)

“Saeed Al-Ghamdi, Mohand Al-Shehri, Abdul Aziz Al-Omari and Salem Al-Hazmi ‘are not dead and had nothing to do with the heinous terror attacks in New York and Washington,’ the Saudi Arabian embassy told the Orlando Sentinel.”

“Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal told the Arabic Press after meeting with President George W. Bush on Sept. 20th [that] "it was proved that five of the names included in the FBI list had nothing to do with what happened.” (18)

Some news reports point out that Osama bin Laden stayed in the American military hospital in Dubai and was visited by the local CIA chief in June/July 2001. (19) At that time, he was wanted for the African embassy bombings, but no one attempted to arrest or harm him.

Others point out that, on Sept. 10, 2001, Osama bin Laden was admitted into a Pakistani hospital for his renal condition. He was closely guarded by the Pakistani military, though no explanations were furnished as to why. Surely the U.S. would have been aware of bin Laden’s whereabouts on Sept. 11. (20)

Again, one has to notice that the FBI is not actively pursuing bin Laden for 9/11, as their spokesmen have said and as their website wanted poster demonstrates. (21) Last January, the CIA shut down its team dedicated to finding bin Laden. (22)

Why would they do that if bin Laden was the author of the worst crime in U.S. history?

One of the frustrations of investigating events that are being covered up is that the investigator can say what sounds untrue (contradictory, improbable, implausible, etc.), but one cannot say what is true. I therefore have no idea if Osama bin Laden actually played some role in 9/11, but, if he did, increasingly that role comes to resemble a part paid for by the CIA.

Now why do I bring up these events? I do not bring them up because I want you to subscribe to my view of them as what really happened on 9/11. I do not know what really happened. I’m not sure anyone does, with the exception that scientists who have looked at physical remains and others like them can with some assurance say what events happened at the chemical and physical level.

I write this article to say that it does seem clear to me that 9/11 was made in America and made by what appear to be officials at the highest levels of power.

Following these events, these same officials dictated that a policy of rounding up American Muslims, racially-profiling them at airports, and treating the community with suspiciousness should prevail, even though they themselves had caused the catastrophe and not the American Muslim community.

I acknowledge here that I know practically nothing about the American Muslim community. I know very, very little about world Islam. I am not an expert on 9/11 either. It was not my intention to write on any of those themes.

It was my intention to offer my apologies to the American Muslim community for having bought the official story of 9/11 for so long and shared in the suspiciousness towards it.

Looking from the vantage point I do now, I see no grounds for blaming Muslims for 9/11.

It may be that the actions of the American government have created a “war on terror” where none existed as of 2001 - I don’t know. Unjust and illegal wars in Afghanistan and Iraq have killed millions of people and made the U.S. many new enemies. But again I do not claim to be an expert on these circumstances.

But I do believe that the “war on terror,” along with 9/11 itself, was “made in America.” Every time I hear of a terror alert, I do suspect that I am being manipulated.

Recently Vice-President Cheney, CIA Director Gen. Michael Hayden, and other major and minor political figures have hinted that a second 9/11 could be expected. I also think that, should it occur, this event too will be an inside job and will have nothing to do with the American Muslim community. And I feel a need to say that before an event like it occurs.

In my mind, George Bush, Dick Cheney and unknown other shadowy figures whom I cannot name are the real terrorists. They are guilty of mass murder and high treason. And we are complicit through our silence and in accepting as the explanation their false charges against Muslims. Steve Beckow

A senior Iranian commander says the successful simulation of the US Army's combat style has enabled the IRGC to find their weaknesses.

Deputy Chief of Staff of Iran's Armed Forces Brigadier General Mohammad Zolqadr said Sunday that the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps is fully capable of countering US tactics.

"During the US invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq, the American army's combat methods, its weaknesses and strong points, and its capabilities have been fully monitored," said the Iranian general.

The remarks come shortly after Brigadier General Abdul-Rahim Mousavi said on Friday that Iran has wrapped up three secret military drills over the past two months aimed at strengthening the country's defensive prowess.

The US and Israel have long threatened to launch military strikes on nuclear facilities in Iran should the country continue its uranium enrichment program.

Despite the UN nuclear watchdog's confirmation that enriched uranium in Iran does not exceed 3 percent, a rate consistent with the construction of a nuclear power plant, Washington and Tel Aviv, alongside their European allies, accuse Iran of pursuing a military nuclear program.

This is while the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) continues to conduct snap inspections of Iranian nuclear sites and has reported that all "declared nuclear material in Iran has been accounted for."

Iran, a signatory to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), says that diplomacy is the only acceptable means for clarifying the civilian nature of its nuclear program.

Recent reports have suggested that an armada of US and European naval vessels has been stationed in the Persian Gulf in an unprecedented build-up.

Mainstream media regarded the deployment as an attempt by the Bush administration to wage war on Iran before President George W. Bush leaves office in January 2009.

"The IRGC is now using innovative methods to counter any threat against Iran," Brig. Gen. Mohammad Zolqadr continued.

He added that should Washington attempt to engage in war with Tehran, the US would not stumble upon 'orthodox and classic tactics'.

Iran has warned that if the country comes under attack, it would target Israel and 32 US bases in the region and would not hesitate in taking necessary measures to protect its sovereignty- including the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.

The strategically vital strait, between Iran and Oman, is an essential conduit for energy supplies and connects the oil-rich region to free sea. As much as 40 percent of the world's sea-transited crude oil passes through the waterway.

Iran has recently equipped its navy with high-tech weapons system, capable of targeting any vessel within a range of 300 km (185 miles) from its shores.

The Pentagon is the headquarters of the United States Department of Defense, located in Arlington, Virginia. As a symbol of the U.S. military, "the Pentagon" is often used metonymically to refer to the Department of Defense rather than the building itself.

Designed by the Swedish American architect George Bergstrom (1876 – 1955), and built by Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, general contractor John McShain, the building was dedicated on January 15, 1943 after ground was broken for construction on September 11, 1941. General Brehon Somervell provided the major motive power behind the project[1]; Colonel Leslie Groves (whose administrative ability, drive and forcefulness led to his nomination to head the Manhattan Project in 1942) and major Clarence Renshaw were responsible for overseeing the project for the Army.

The Pentagon is the largest[2] or one of the world's largest office buildings.[3] It houses approximately 23,000 military and civilian employees[3]and about 3,000 non-defense support personnel. It has five sides, five floors above ground (plus two basement levels), and five ring corridors per floor with a total of 17.5 miles (28.2 km)[3] of corridors.

The central plaza in the Pentagon is five acres (20,000 m²). The open space in the center is informally known as "ground zero", a nickname originating during the Cold War and based on the presumption that the Soviet Union would target one or more nuclear missiles at this central location. At the center of this plaza was once the "Ground Zero Cafe", a snack bar.[4]

Just south of the Pentagon are Pentagon City and Crystal City, extensive shopping and high-density residential districts in Arlington. Arlington National Cemetery is to the north. The Washington Metro Pentagon station is also located at the Pentagon, on the Blue and Yellow Lines. The Pentagon is surrounded by the complex Pentagon road network.[5]

NASA has blown up an unmanned rocket in mid-air.

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has destroyed an experimental unmanned rocket following a failed launch.

The rocket was blown up at an altitude of 11,000 to 12,000 feet when it strayed off course 27 seconds after taking off from Wallops Island off the eastern shore of Virginia early Friday.

“NASA is very disappointed in this failure but has directed its focus on protecting public safety and conducting a comprehensive investigation to identify the root cause,” the agency said in a statement.

“NASA is assembling a multidiscipline team, along with the rocket's maker, Alliant Techsystems … to begin the investigation promptly,” the statement added.

According to NASA officials, the debris had fallen into the Atlantic Ocean leaving no injuries or property damage.

A Russian military spokesman says Russian forces have seized a large cache of US-made weapons in the western city of Senaki in Georgia.

"In Senaki, we seized a large arsenal of weapons including 664 US-made M-16 rifles" and a number of M-40 sniper rifles, General Anatoly Nogovitsyn told a news conference in Moscow.

"There were 1,728 weapons total," he added.

Earlier on Wednesday, US President George W. Bush sent a C-17 airlifter to deliver 'humanitarian supplies' to Georgia.

"And in the days ahead we will use US aircraft as well as naval forces to deliver humanitarian and medical supplies," Bush announced.

Shortly after the announcement, Russia expressed concern that US military cargo planes could be delivering more than just humanitarian aid to Georgia.

"Let us ask the Americans to convince us that the cargo on board these planes is indeed humanitarian aid. Why don't they lift the curtain on what is being delivered?" Deputy Head of Russia's General Staff Anatoly Nogovitsyn said.

Andrei Nesterenko, the Russian Foreign Ministry's spokesman, said that the navy was not 'the best way' to deliver humanitarian aid to Georgia.

The United States is Georgia's principal military supporter, and has provided the country with significant quantities of military aid in recent years.

As the conflict between Russia and Georgia enters its second week, Russia's president Dmitry Medvedev signed a ceasefire deal on Saturday. However, Russian forces have yet to withdraw from Georgia.

US military planes have been making secretive landings in Kenya in what is feared to be an effort to move terror suspects.

The night landings by US military planes at Nairobi's Wilson Airport, carrying Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) operatives, have raised suspicion among both local security agents and aviation authorities.

The planes belonging to the Prescott Support Group, which has been accused in other parts of the world of being involved in the rendition of terror suspects and having strong links with the CIA, were allowed to operate in Kenya two months ago, even after the country's aviation authorities questioned the move.

Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) Director-General Chris Kuto said the planes were only involved in "aerial mapping operations".

"We did give them a license yes but only to carry out mapping activities in Northern Kenya. I am not aware of any other secret activities they are involved in," Kuto told Press TV correspondent in Kenya on Sunday.

The issue raises concerns especially at a time when Kenya security forces are in a frantic search for terror suspect, Fazul Abdullah Mohamed, accused of masterminding the August 1998 attack on the US Embassy in Nairobi which left more than 200 people dead and 5,000 others seriously injured.

Leaked CIA reports cite suspects being arrested, shackled, blindfolded and sedated, after which they are transported, usually by private jet, to other countries like Ethiopia where torture is used to force them into submission.

Human rights groups in Kenya have voiced concern over the mistreatment of terrorism suspects and the harassment of Muslims in the country under the guise of anti-terrorism efforts.

Kenya has previously handed over more than 15 terror suspects to the US and Ethiopian authorities in an exercise that angered many Muslim leaders.

Ahmedabad was hit by a series of explosions on Saturday.

Indian police have raided the home of an American suspect in connection with the weekend bomb attacks, which left dozens of people dead.

Police in Mumbai traced an e-mail claiming responsibility for the blasts back to the residence of Kenneth Haywood in Navi Mumbai, a satellite city across the water from India's commercial capital, AP reported.

The security personnel also seized a computer from which the e-mail was sent. The e-mail claimed responsibility for Ahmadabad bombings that killed 45 people.

Mumbai police said it had questioned the 48-year-old US citizen but did not arrest him; as they were still investigating whether he was involved or his e-mail account was hacked.

"He is a suspect, yes," said a police officer involved in the investigation.

Saturday's e-mail, sent from a Yahoo account and written in English, was made available to the media.

Political analysts in India and local media reports have not ruled out the involvement of external powers in the weekend's serial bombings.

AHMEDABAD/ MUMBAI: It is not just the 19 serial blasts, the whole terror operation is an example of meticulous planning -a combination of technological expertise and brute power to strike terror.

Sending the threat mail from an unsecured connection was the first step towards creating mayhem in Ahmedabad.

At Gunina CHS plot in Sanpada, Mumbai, an uninvited visitor frequently visited calling. He claimed to be an internet network professional. This was the same flat where a computer network had been hacked into by terrorists to send that terror mail just five minutes before the serial blasts triggered off in Ahmedabad.

Investigations carried out by the Mumbai ATS and IB officials reveal that this uninvited visitor was a terror operative in disguise.

The operative had tampered with the internet router in the building, made it insecure to allow terrorists to hack into it and send threat mail. Ahmedabad cops have asked for the details of the system specifications to know more about the sender.

Mumbai Anti-Terrorists Squad (ATS) officials on Wednesday confirmed that they have arrested three people "involved with the terror mail" . However, their identities and professions are a closely-guarded secret.

"The network professional had changed the specifications of the internet router in the building. This could then be used by any user, standing outside with a laptop and a Wi-fi internet device to tap into it. The same router was then used to send the terror mail. The local residents later told us that the man in question had visited the building four times in last fortnight. When asked about the purpose of visit, he insisted that he had come to repair the network that was malfunctioning. No complaint had been made though. We believe that he had got the connection unsecure and thus accessible to other wi-fi enabled computers in the vicinity," said an ATS official.

Earlier, the investigating officials had tracked down the connection registered on the name of one Camp Kell White, a foreign national, staying as a tenant in the flat of Abhishek Sharma.

Initially the officials believed that Sharma's computer was used to send the mail. However, when the officials matched the Machine Access Control (MAC) of the connection with the IP found, they got to know that the internet connection was used with the help of a router with 150 feet range. However, White has not been released by the Mumbai police officials after investigation on Wednesday.

"The discovery shows that the men we are dealing with are not illiterate youth razing up buildings. They are well-versed in computer technology and can use the knowledge for their benefit. More details about their grand plan can only be known after arrest of group members," said the official.
